DOS: Leaders for Democracy Fellowships NEAAC-ACBURGR-17-006

The Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Office of Assistance Coordination announces a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to advance participatory governance and civic engagement in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) by providing emerging civic leaders with academic and skill-based training, as well as linkages with program alumni across the region. With this announcement, we seek to continue the Leaders for Democracy Fellowship (LDF) project and support cadres of professionals who have both a familiarity with the theoretical elements of participatory governance and civic systems, as well as practical experience. The LDF project will include two components, a U.S. based program conducted in English and a MENA-based program conducted in Arabic. The successful applicant must be able to run and monitor both the U.S.-based program and the MENA-based program. The cooperative agreement will also include an alumni engagement element.

USC may only submit one application in response to this program announcement. Your application submission MUST be coordinated with the Office of the Vice President for Research. Please send a two page abstract via email to Richard White (whitejrw@mailbox.sc.edu) by April 10, 2017. In addition to the 2-page abstract, you should also submit a biosketch for the PI.

DOS indicates that a LOI is NOT REQUIRED and a full proposal is due by May 10, 2017 . For more information: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=292819
