End-of-Semester Message to the Students
December 4, 2025
Dear Students,
At the end of the fall semester, the time between Thanksgiving Day and exam week goes by in a rush! You have only just returned from a short holiday break, and already you are finishing the last week of classes, with exams coming up soon after. I am confident that you will navigate all of this beautifully on your way to Winter Break.
We started this semester with great energy at First Night Carolina on the Horseshoe, and we also celebrated the opening of the brand new Garnet Station dining hall. I enjoyed talking to students during surprise classroom visits on the first day of classes and listening to your ideas about improving the campus experience at our Imagine Carolina retreat in September.
Ero and I shared your excitement about the first USC football game of the season, and we welcomed many of your families to our beautiful campus during Family Weekend. We also enjoyed meeting many of you at events across campus, including our Fall Ring Ceremony and trick-or-treating at the President’s House.
Make sure to mark your calendars for the next special event – Midnight Breakfast on Dec. 7 from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Take a break from your studies to come get pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit and other treats at one of our two locations: Garnet Station in Russell House or The Pavilion at Campus Village. Your USC leaders will be there to serve breakfast for this great exam week tradition. It is our pleasure to do this for our students while they are working hard to prepare for exams!
Before you get too distracted by the holidays ahead, you should give your full attention to these final days of the semester. If you need extra support, remember that resources are available through USC’s Office of Student Health and Well-Being and the Student Success Center. We want you to be focused and successful, and we also want you to be healthy, so take care of yourselves as you finish the semester strong.
Good luck on your finals, enjoy your Winter Break, and come back to campus in January rested and ready for a great spring semester!
Sincerely,
Michael D. Amiridis
President
