New Software System - Do Sports Easy (DSE)
We’re excited to announce that Campus Recreation is transitioning to a new software system, Do Sports Easy (DSE), designed to streamline and enhance your experience with our programs and services. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to provide you with the best possible experience when accessing and participating in programs and services.
With DSE, you’ll be able to manage a variety of Campus Recreation services all in one place, including:
- Memberships: Purchase and renew your Campus Recreation memberships with ease.
- Towel and Locker Service: Conveniently manage your towel and locker rentals.
- Billing and Payments: Handle payments for all Campus Recreation services securely within the platform.
- Program Registration: Sign up for intramural sports, group fitness classes, adventure trips, and more.
Please Note: While many of our key services are ready to go, we want to let you know that a number of our programs and features are still in development. We appreciate your patience as we continue to enhance the system.

Each membership option below will have a link to take you directly to your desired membership type. Membership fees are prorated throughout the term.

Early Bird memberships are available to be purchased at a discounted price by full-time faculty and staff, and retirees.
- An Early Bird membership entitles members to utilize the facility during the following
hours:
- Blatt PEC during all operational hours Monday - Friday.
- STWFC Monday - Thursday before 2 p.m.
- STWFC Friday - Sunday during all operating hours
- Holidays and breaks during all operational hours
2024-2025 Academic Year Memberships
- Early Bird Yearly Membership (August 12 to August 10, 2025) - $270
- Early Bird Fall Membership (August 12 to December 31, 2024) - $110
Early Bird Payroll Deduction
- 9-month: $15 per pay period
- 12-month: $11.25 per pay period

A current membership to the USC Alumni Association is required for prospective alumni members. Once a USC Alumni Association membership is purchased, a Campus Recreation Alumni membership can be bought. Once a Campus Recreation Alumni membership is purchased, you will receive confirmation and information on how to purchase an Alumni CarolinaCard (from the CarolinaCard office for a fee of $35.00).
You must have a physical CarolinaCard to gain access to our facilities.

Membership FAQ
While we have loved providing what we feel is an integral service to the University of South Carolina community, the financial stress caused by the pandemic and other factors has required a change to the function of the Blatt PE Center (PEC). The PEC is an auxiliary function and unfortunately is no longer receiving state or University funds or subsidies, and after a significant reduction in funds, is funded primarily by student fees.
With the annual increase in the cost of operation, as well as a continued need to update and upgrade facilities and equipment, to keep the PEC open we must ask our users to contribute to the cost of operation. Over the past three decades the university has faced similar situations several times and services have had to be reduced or eliminated, hours of operation reduced or closed, among other strategies. The hard reality is that we just do not have the funds to subsidize this service any longer.
For as little as $20 per month your membership will allow you access to two facilities, new and expanded fitness offerings, an indoor and outdoor pool, rock wall, and other opportunities. We are committed to helping the USC community stay active and strong and hope that you will continue to utilize Campus Recreation facilities, programs, and services.
Campus Recreation members MUST use their own physical CarolinaCard to access our facilities.
Students, Faculty, Staff, and Retirees should already have a CarolinaCard through the university.
Alumni should refer to their section above for questions on how to get their CarolinaCard. Spouses will work with their partners/CarolinaCard Office to acquire their CarolinaCard.
Our memberships align with the University Academic Calendar and can be purchased at any time.
- Annual Memberships
- Memberships will be available for the 2024-2025 Academic Year on August 12, 2024.
- Expires on August 10, 2025 (2024-2025)
- Semester Memberships
- Fall: Begins August 12 and expires on December 31, 2024 (2024-2025)
- Spring: Begins January 1, 2025 and expires on May 11, 2025 (2024-2025)
- Summer: Begins Begins May 12, 2025 and expires August 10, 2025 (2023-2024)

Early Bird members can access our facilities during the following:

- Fri. - Sun.: Full Access during operational hours

Full members can access our facilities during all operational hours.
Current faculty and staff will have an available option at checkout on the online store. Short term memberships (semester or summer) will not be eligible for payroll deduction.

Memberships to the STWFC are non-transferable, non-refundable and membership fees are subject to change.
Facilities and services will be available on a regular basis; However, they may be discontinued for a given period because of directives from the university, major maintenance projects, or unforeseen circumstances.
