Aids in the full preparation of medical school with special emphasis on African-Americans and minorities.
To coordinate volunteers at the West Columbia location of Good Samaritan Clinic to interpret, to assist in electronic data entry of patient files, or to raise funds/write grants for the clinic.
To review neuroscience research manuscript submissions from undergraduate students, and publish those manuscripts online on a rolling submission, free access basis, and to coordinate campus events for the annual Brain Awareness Week.
CURE International is a nonprofit organization that operates hospitals and programs in 27 different countries around the world. Our mission here at South Carolina is to support these hospitals and the work that is being done through them through events to raise support and awareness. We also send students over the summer to experience all the work that takes place at a CURE hospital.
Students strive to fund raise, advocate and serve in their community in order to spread the ideals and hopes of Timmy Global Health. As Dr. Chuck says, "We were not all born to be doctors and nurses, but we were all born to be healers."
