Research Focus
I am interested in a wide range of questions and collaborate with colleagues here at USC and elsewhere. I also maintain substantial interactions with many internationally recognized experts including a number of Nobel Laureates. Strongly committed to diversity and outreach - I was an inaugural member of our College’s diversity committee; superconductivity Team leader for the March 2019 meeting of the American Physical Society, and chaired the “Devices & Applications” session (Y08) of that meeting in Boston MA. I also mentor the Engineering Physics faculty of Benedict College (BC), a minority intuition.
In solid state physics my research goals are: geometric (non-chemical) control of carrier density and bandgap in Dirac-Fermionic systems such as graphene; the enhancement of superconductivity by mesoscale manipulation and to decrease phonon flow while increasing charge flow in GST, an archetypal phase transition material (PCM). I am also working on projects in Arago Optics, Newtonian gravitational fields and number theory. Our latest publication " Wang et al., Quantum transport properties of monolayer graphene with antidot lattice" appeared in the Journal of Applied Physics (Issue 8, Vol 126, 2019; DOI: 10.1063/1.5100813).
