Bistro Lunch Dining

The historic McCutchen House is open to the public for lunch during the University of South Carolina regular fall and spring semesters, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, Tuesday through Friday.*

*Due to students' academic requirements, lunch concludes by 2 p.m.

Lunches range from $11.95 to $15.95 + tax per person unless otherwise noted (lunch, beverages, and dessert included). McCutchen House is cashless. Please pay by credit, debit, check, Carolina Cash, IIT or direct billing.


Fall 2024 Lunch Menu (Sept. 3 – Oct. 16)

Note: McCutchen House will be closed Sept. 20 for Family Weekend, Oct. 17-18 for Fall Break, Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 for a Homecoming special event, Nov. 5 for the General Election, and Nov. 26-29 for Thanksgiving Break. Last day of operation for the fall is Dec. 6.

  • McCutchen House Salad: Mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, sliced purple onion rings, shredded smoked Gouda, toasted slivered almonds. Choice of our scratch-made house, ranch, blue cheese, and balsamic dressings.
  • Soup of the Day: Prepared daily. Ask your server for the day's selection.

Entrées (choice of one)

  • McCutchen House Philly: Shaved ribeye, onions, peppers, and mushrooms topped with melted Provolone cheese in a toasted hoagie roll. Served with french fries. $12.95
  • Crabcakes: Two jumbo lump crabs on a nest of arugula and topped with zesty remoulade. Served with dirty rice and vegetable of the day. $15.95
  • Pesto Chicken Bruschetta: Marinated, roasted boneless chicken breasts topped with fresh mozzarella, pesto, rainbow cherry tomato bruschetta, & toasted pine nuts. Served with roasted fingerling potatoes and vegetable of the day. $13.95 GF
  • Caribbean Pork: Jerk-seasoned smoked pork tenderloin, sliced to order and served with mango salsa, dirty rice, and vegetable of the day. $13.95 GF
  • Vegetable Wrap: Our vegetarian option is a flour tortilla loaded with hummus, caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, sauteed mushrooms, kalamata olives, and mixed greens. Served with our house dressing and french fries. $11.95

Appetizers

  • Spinach Artichoke Dip: Hot dip topped with shredded parmesan cheese and served with pita rounds. $8.50
  • Baked Brie Board: Warm brie topped with sweet fig preserves, pecans, and fresh rosemary. Served with granny smith sliced apple, and crostini. $8.50
  • Tangy Ginger Fried Shrimp: Panko-breaded shrimp topped with scallions and served with a pacific ginger-soy sauce. $7.50

A la carte

  • McCutchen House Salad: Mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, sliced purple onion rings, shredded smoked Gouda, toasted slivered almonds. Choice of our scratch-made house, ranch, blue cheese, and balsamic dressings. $2.00
  • Soup: Prepared daily. Ask your server for the day's selection. $2.00
  • Tomato Pie: $1.25 each
  • Desserts: McCutchen House signature chocolate walnut pie. Other desserts vary regularly. $1.25
  • Beverages: Freshly brewed sweet and unsweetened tea. Coke®, Diet Coke®, Sprite®, lemonade. $1.25

  • Reservations are recommended but not required.
  • Groups: McCutchen House is able to accommodate groups up to 20 with an advance reservation.

McCutchen House is an applied learning restaurant management laboratory for students studying in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In addition to enjoying great food, guests have the opportunity to help students advance their knowledge and skills by providing valuable feedback on the hospitality and service.
