Background
Celeste Caulder, Pharm.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences (CPOS) at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and a clinical pharmacist at Prisma Health - Richland who specializes in medicine and infectious diseases.
Dr. Caulder earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. She completed a pharmacy practice residency (2004-2005) at University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA, and an infectious diseases specialty residency (2005-2006) at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Dr. Caulder has served as course coordinator and instructor for more than eight years. She also served as a visiting professor for the Misr International University College of Pharmacy in Cairo, Egypt. In addition to serving as an instructor, she has actively served as a member of several committees in the College of Pharmacy. Her involvement has benefitted faculty searches, student policy/curriculum development, and recognition of honors, awards and scholarships. Dr. Caulder is currently the Director of International Programs for the USC College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Caulder has served on a number of regional groups including the SC HIV/STD Conference Planning Committee, SC and the South Carolina Society of Health-System Pharmacists education committee. She has published several peer-reviewed publications in a number of high-impact pharmacy and medical journals and the well-respected textbook, Roadmap to Postgraduate Training, a blueprint for students and preceptors on preparing for residency and fellowship training.
Dr. Caulder received the Kappa Epsilon/Merck Vanguard Leadership Award in February 2013 which was created to recognize leadership abilities and accomplishments among Kappa Epsilon Alumni members. Outside of work, she enjoys shopping, Gamecock athletics, and spending time with her family.
