Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Jilling is a soil biogeochemist with research interests in soil organic matter dynamics at the interface between clay minerals, microbes, and plants. She is particularly interested in how these interactions mediate ecosystem-scale patterns in carbon and nitrogen cycling. Her lab applies soil biogeochemistry and stable isotope-based techniques and is equipped to analyze standard indicators of soil health. Overall, her goal is to advance research that helps to promote efficient, climate-resilient and healthy soil.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
