Translating Research to Reality
Our goal at the South Carolina Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (SC-CPCRN) is to reduce cancer-related health disparities among disenfranchised and medically underserved populations by advancing dissemination and implementation (D&I) science, increasing the cancer prevention and control evidence base across South Carolina, and translating effective multi-level, community-clinical interventions into practice both in South Carolina and nationally.
We are committed to: (1) disseminating, implementing, and evaluating efficacious, multi-level, and multi-site public health, cancer control interventions to address cancer-related health disparities; (2) engaging community and clinical partners in research, training, and technical assistance to strengthen D&I science for cancer control in high-risk populations in SC and nationally, and translate effective community-based intervention for cancer control in practice; and, (3) increasing the capacity of community and clinical partners in the D&I of evidence-based cancer prevention and control strategies that are effective in reaching underserved, minority, and rural populations.
