Stained Glass Course (For Beginners)
Let the LIGHT shine! In this workshop, attendees will learn how to cut stained glass,
solder, and piece the glass together, using the copper tape method to make a suncatcher.
This class is for beginners, and participants will learn the basics of getting started
with stained glass.
Meet Your Instructor
Blair A. Minick
Blair A. Minick studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she received
a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and a minor in metals and jewelry. She continued
her education at North Georgia College and State University and received her Master
of Arts in Teaching. Blair grew up always knowing that she wanted to be in art education.
This led her to her career as an art teacher, where she taught for seven years on
the K-12 level. Some of her teaching courses included: photography, metals, jewelry,
visual arts, graphic design, and AP and IB Art. Blair is a professional photographer
and has owned a metals and jewelry business.
Blair enjoys traveling and has visited 18 countries. She has traveled with students
all over the world and continues to travel to enhance her cultural awareness. In 2004
the Savannah College of Art and Design selected her photograph, “Fishwater” for their
permanent collection and her jewelry has also been selected for multiple exhibitions.
In 2010 she had a portrait chosen for national advertising. She is an Instructor
of Art Education and the Art Education program's Student Teacher Supervisor at the
University of South Carolina.
