The University of South Carolina's continuing education division has an account with Sallie Mae for continuing education training. Sallie Mae will evaluate your credit score and recommends a co-borrower for those with low scores or minimal credit history. Before selecting a loan program, be careful to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of each choice. Financial programs all vary in repayment timelines, APRs, and more. Some factors to consider before financing include:

• Investigate every financing option and program available including your local credit union or bank.
• Look for a plan that offers the most flexibility in repayments and charges a reasonable interest rate.
• Borrow as little as possible.

Our professional programs are non-credit adult continuing education. As such, they are not eligible for funding through many state and federal financial aid programs or any program for which a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) would be required.

The Army Credentialing Assistance (CA) program helps soldiers earn in-demand, industry recognized credentials. This program provides up to $4,000 in funding to pursue online career training for certifications listed on the Army Credentialing website. 

USC's Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certificate Program is approved by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education as a prep course that is reimbursable for VA beneficiaries who have remaining benefits available through the GI Bill. MyCAA funds are designated for some spouses of active military members around the world. The mission of this program is to provide portable careers to those spouses to allow for gainful employment as they move from base to base. Funding is limited to certification and licensure programs and associate degrees. Additionally, spouses must finish their program of study within three years.
