Kelsie DeckeriCarolina Lab Coordinator - SumterKelsie attended Anderson University and pursued a graphic design degree. She interned with the graphic design department at Sumter Packaging. As a design intern, the lead designer tasked her with producing a package design for one of Sumter Packaging’s clients, which proceeded to production. Kelsie fulfilled her internship requirement for graduation from Anderson University’s graphic design program by working with Sunny Mullarkey Printmaking Studios in Greenville, SC. While under Sunny’s tutelage, she assisted with implementing mural-based artwork. Mural artwork seen at Art and Light Gallery and Gather GVL, located in the Village of West Greenville and downtown Greenville, SC. Since starting at USC Sumter, she has carried out graphic design projects for the previous Dean of Student Enrollment and Student Success, Dr. Amber Novotny. Specific art includes the admissions brochure for USC Sumter and the USC Sumter podcast cover art. For Athletic Director Adrienne Cataldo, she designed an updated layout for the Nettles Gym on USC Sumter’s campus, including university colors and logos to promote campus athletics. As the iCarolina Lab Coordinator, she assists community members and corperations with scheduling and using Sumter’s lab space when in need of venues. She assists lab visitors with technological needs regarding their use of Apple devices. While in the position of iCarolina Lab Coordinator, she has utilized her degree in graphic design to promote the lab space, and created digital print designs for the lab alongside the mural displayed on the back wall of Sumter’s iCarolina Lab. As the iCarolina Lab grows, she has taken on the role of instructor and led courses meant to improve one's understanding of Apple devices. Outside of work hours, she enjoys dance, participating in adult classes at Freed School of Performing Arts, coaching tennis at Thomas Sumter Academy, and overall staying active with friends.
