Background

Cheri Vaughn serves as the Court Liaison Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens, and Newberry counties. She assists the family court by tracking and expediting the legal processing of child protection and termination of parental rights (TPR) cases. She is responsible for reviewing case files, preparing information sheets for the court, and assisting in resolving issues to prevent delayed hearings. Prior to joining the Children’s Law Center, she was employed at Greenwood Department of Social Services for 35 years. She began her career there in human service as a child protective service worker and later moved to foster care. She also spent several years as human services supervisor. Her last position with DSS was as the Human Services Coordinator. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Lander University.
