Academic Advising

  • Two male students walk on campus

Step One: Register for New Student Orientation

Orientation is a required program designed to help you succeed as a future Gamecock. During Orientation, you’ll learn about campus resources, academic expectations and student life, all while connecting with fellow students and getting to know your new campus.

Sign up for your New Student Orientation Date

All new students must sign up for an in-person New Student Orientation session. Registration for Summer 2026 NSO sessions will be available on March 23 at 12:00 pm EST. The deadline to register for NSO is May 6.

More information on registering for an orientation session can be found on the Office of New Student Orientation's website

Cocky Transitions can be accessed through your USC Admissions Portal. The module will take about 30 minutes to complete.
