Our purpose is to provide mentoring, academic support, and higher educational opportunities for those who support females enrolled at the University of South Carolina Lancaster. The goal is to enhance their academic achievement, improve retention, and promote unity for those who are working towards a higher education
Since 2007, D.E.F.I.N.E.’s sole purpose was to allow members of the community to serve as role models and provide mentoring, academic support, and higher educational opportunities for those who support females enrolled at the University of South Carolina Lancaster.
Mentoring sessions held twice a month. These sessions will address academic preparedness, financial needs, personal needs and environmental & cultural concerns.
Various campus and community service projects. D.E.F.I.N.E. members will serve as mentors to the youth of Lancaster County through various organizations such as Clinton Elementary School, HOPE of Lancaster, K.A.R.E., Habitat for Humanity, and The Lancaster Children's Home. Through these organizations, D.E.F.I.N.E. will promote the importance of higher education and cultural enrichment activities. In addition, D.E.F.I.N.E. will have an active participation in campus sponsored events.
