About Us

G.E.N.T.S. stands for Gentlemen Engaged in Necessary Training for Success.  We hold bi-weekly meetings for all University of South Carolina Lancaster students who support males to join and engage in our group activities. At our meetings, our primary focus is on the students and their needs. We offer a safe environment for the students to bring up and discuss anything they would like. While we primarily focus on academia, we allow our students to open to one another and discus their own real-life problems. We provide our students with a safe place that allows them to be themselves; and in doing so they are forming a sister like bond with their fellow D.E.F.I.N.E. members.

Our organization is highly involved with our community. We visit, help, donate, and more to various organizations within our community. We have done community service projects with Clinton Elementary School, HOPE of Lancaster, K.A.R.E., Habitat for Humanity, Lancaster Promise Neighborhood, Women’s Enrichment Center, White Oak Manor, Brooklyn Springs Elementary, and The Lancaster Children's Home. We plan to continue to get as much involved within the community as possible. In addition to us going out to different community organizations, we have some guest speakers from our community come in and speak at our meeting. Through these organizations, G.E.N.T.S. will promote the importance of higher education and cultural enrichment activities. In addition, G.E.N.T.S. will have an active participation in campus sponsored events.
