NEW - Registration Plan Ahead Shopping Cart, Shared on Behalf of the University Registrar, Aaron Marterer (10/24/2024)
The “Schedule Planner” shopping cart has been replaced with a new shopping cart tool called “Plan Ahead” on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
Similar to Schedule Planner, “Plan Ahead Shopping Cart” will allow students to create multiple schedule plans in advance of registration. When students' registration time tickets open, students can add a saved plan to their registration cart and attempt to register for all courses with the click of one button.
Plan Ahead has a similar look and feel to the current registration screen. A video explaining the functionality can be found here:

Update on Schedule Planner, Shared on Behalf of the University Registrar, Aaron Marterer (9/26/2024)
Recently the link to Schedule Planner was removed from Self Service Carolina due to errors with the software that needed to be addressed. We know many use this feature to plan out potential schedules and the University is looking into other options as a replacement to the Shopping Cart tool.
Students can continue to use the Self Service Carolina ‘Browse Classes’ and the Enhanced Class Search (classes.sc.edu) to explore course options and develop schedules for registration. Here are resources that can help with this process:
- Registration Help – This website has a wealth of information on the registration process, FAQs, and videos on the tools in Self Service Carolina.
- Add Courses via CRN – Register for multiple classes at the same time using CRNs.

- Log into my.sc.edu
- Click on the “Student” tab at the top of the screen.
- Click on the “Registration” box (3rd box from left on top row).
- Click on “Register for Classes” (on the left-hand side, middle).
- A new page will load. Select the semester for which you are registering for courses.
- Select the “Enter CRN’s” tab (under Register for Classes, next to “Find Classes”)
- Enter the CRN (5-digit number) in the box.
- Choose “Add to Summary”
- In the lower half window on the right, the added course listed will appear as “pending”.
- Verify this is the correct class and then Once you have verified this, click the "Submit" button (bottom right corner).
- Double check to make sure the course has been added to your schedule. The status will go from “Pending” to “Registered” and highlighted green)
- Schedule Worksheet – Use this to plan out courses for the Spring 2025 semester! It is a fillable PDF, so you can create as many copies as you need with alternate schedules.

- Log back into Self Service Carolina.
- Please note you may have to follow these steps multiple times.
