Background
Professor Scott received her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Clemson University in 1987. She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing through the University of Virginia in 1994. Her Master's Degree in Nursing focused on Adult Critical Care with a focus in cardiovascular nursing as a clinical specialist. She completed her DNP from the University of South Carolina in August 2017 in the Nurse Executive track.
Teaching
Dr. Scott currently teaches NURS 216 - Biophysical Pathology at the University's Lancaster campus. She also coordinates and teaches NURS 422 (Adult Medical- Surgical II) on the Columbia campus and is also a clinical instructor for NURS 311, 425, 435. She also assists with the daily operations of the Clinical Simulation Lab on the Lancaster campus.
Dissemination
Prof Scott has presented at both local, regional, and international conferences on topics that focus on simulation and debriefing techniques.

Professional Practice
Professor Scott has been a nurse for over thirty years primarily working in critical care (adult and pediatric cardiothoracic surgery). Previously, she was a Director of Cardiovascular Services, an outcomes analyst at Piedmont Medical Center. For the past 13 years, she has taught in undergraduate nursing programs and is certified as a nurse educator.
