Julie-Anne Castro is the Assistant Director of the Taxpayer Assistance Program at the University of South Carolina’s Joseph F. Rice School of Law. Julie-Anne received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Criminology from the University of South Carolina. She then attended law school and received her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law. During law school, she completed her residency at the South Carolina Department of Education and served as the Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant for her Public Interest Legal Writing class.

After law school, Julie-Anne worked at South Carolina Legal Services and served as a Peer Support Leader and Lead Attorney for Estate Administration. Julie-Anne practiced in the following areas of law: Consumer, Education, Employment, Private Landlord/Tenant, Public Benefits, Elder, Non-Profit Organization, and Name Changes. In her free time, Julie-Anne serves as a Volunteer Attorney with the Rainy Day Fund and serves as a Community Relations Advisor for her collegiate sorority. Also, she loves dogs.
