Academic Common Market students are billed as non-residents, for non-resident tuition. Once a student receives USC ACM approval, they receive a tuition reduction equal to the difference between non-resident and resident tuition.

After initial USC ACM approval, the ACM tuition reduction will appear 24 hours after a student has registered for classes (once bills are posted to accounts).

The USC ACM Office does not apply the ACM tuition reduction for semesters underway or completed. ACM Certifications must be received by USC ACM deadlines for each semester in order to be approved. 

Contact the USC ACM Office at (803)777-0300 if you sign up for classes the same day the bill is due, so that your bill can be adjusted immediately.

Unfortunately, as the ACM tuition reduction only covers course work taken at USC-Columbia, it will not cover your study abroad experience. 

Most scholarships awarded by USC are made up of two parts: an award amount (example, $500 annually), and a tuition reduction.

USC will not “stack” tuition reductions.

Academic Common Market is a tuition reduction. If you have been awarded a scholarship that includes a tuition reduction and have also been approved for ACM by USC, you will receive the award amount from the scholarship, and the higher of the two tuition reductions. This is always the ACM tuition reduction.

Yes, your non-USC scholarship should be credited to your account along with your ACM tuition reduction. 

Please contact your KEES Coordinator to confirm, however, KEES funds are usually disbursed approximately a month to a month and a half after school starts.
