The SEC supports and promotes collaborative programs and activities designed to highlight the teaching, research and service accomplishments of SEC students, faculty and staff, including related successes within the Conference’s intercollegiate athletics programs. It showcases these achievements on regional, national and international levels using digital and social media platforms. The Office of the Provost coordinates the initiatives below for the University of South Carolina.
SEC Leadership Development Program
The SEC Academic Leadership Development Program (ALDP) was established in 2008 and its mission is to identify, prepare and advance future leaders. The program includes two on-campus workshops hosted by different SEC universities that bring together fellows from each SEC institution. In addition, USC fellows participate in a series of conversations with leaders across the USC Columbia campus and other development activities.
The SEC ALDP is one of several SEC activities that focuses on programs and activities designed to highlight the teaching, research and service accomplishments of SEC students, faculty and staff, including related successes within the Conference’s intercollegiate athletics programs.

SEC Faculty Achievement Awards Program
SEC Faculty Achievement Awards recognize the work of world-renowned faculty members with outstanding records in teaching, research and scholarship. There is one winner/nominee per campus and one overall winner for the conference.
SEC Faculty Travel Grant Program
To enhance collaboration that stimulates scholarly initiatives between universities, this program provides faculty members from each SEC university the opportunity to travel to other SEC universities to exchange ideas, develop grant proposals, and conduct research.
